Just-in-time-for fall (taste of home recipe)
Do you love turkey? What about stuffing? A side of cranberry? Well, than. You’re in luck!
I added the “Stuffed” simply because I LOVE stuffing. This recipe calls for stuffing cubes but I decided to get the stuffing mix.
1 cup seasoned stuffing cubes ( I used Krafts Stove Top stuffing mix for turkey)
1/2 cup milk (I used a cup)
1 egg, beaten
1 small onion ( I used one onion cube)
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
4 1/2 tsp sage
3 tsp rosemary
1-1/2 pounds of ground turkey
1/2 cup ketchup
1/8 tsp hot pepper sauce
(the recipe also called for carrots and celery but I skipped that part since my husband doesn’t like their taste)
*In lrg bowl, combine stuffing mix and milk. Stir in egg, onion, salt, pepper and dried cranberries.
Combine sage and rosemary and add to mixture. Crumble ground turkey over mixture. Stir together. Pat into a ungreased 9in, x5-in. loaf pan.
Bake @ 375 for 25-30 minutes.
In another bowl combine ketchup, cranberry sauce and hot pepper sauce. I used a can of sweet pimientos juice. Stir it all together.
Spread over meatloaf and bake for 25-30 minutes more.
This came out very good and the cranberry topping had a sweet tangy perk to it. I enjoyed every bite!
