I was never use to toning my skin after cleansing. In fact, I never heard about it before I went to beauty school. Glad I did.Toning helps reduce any extra residues from the cleansers and balances out your skins pH level preparing your skin for moisturizing. But you don’t need to rush out and buy the first one you see on the shelf. You’d want to find one that is going to tailor to your skin properly. My recommendation is seeing a esthetician first. Or you can create your own in the comfort of your own bathroom. 🙂
I recently started using a cucumber toner in my skin care routine. In the mornings I’ll wash my face with a Vitamin C gel cleanser and then tone with my homemade toner.
Ingredients:One grated cucumber, 2 tbsp witch hazel, 1 c water,and a spray bottle.
Strain the juice of the cucumber into the bottle, add the water and the witch hazel.
This gives me a cooling feeling ,smooths out my face and closes pores. The smell is great as well!
You can add vit E or honey to your mix. There are all shorts of home toners you can create without spending much at the store.
I hope you find my tips and recommendations helpful and fun!
