Mileena’s Beach party! 2nd birthday.

During this time we LOVED going to the beach and Mileena started becoming a beach bum just as much as her mommy is. The sand in our toes, fresh sea breeze and sea creatures are all fascinating! When  Stephen  and I were married our honeymoon and anniversary destination thereafter has been at a nice hotel on Daytona Beach,Fl.  When we started taking Mileena in the summer to Daytona and to surrounding beaches she always asked to go back. She loved the pool and  associated it with the beach. Of course at that time the words she’d say was “Besshh?” Which we knew stood for beach.

I decided to go with a beach theme for her second birthday and had so much fun planning and organizing!

DSCF3921I got everything mainly from the dollar store (YES,dollar store) They had the summer luau party supplies out so I took advantage.

DSCF3932Had to have the Sweet Tea,Lemonade, and Virgin Pina Colada!

I made creature snow globes as souvenirs for the kids take home buckets. Made from glycerin, water and glitter and I bought the different sea creatures from the dollar store. My sister in law had left over baby food jars so she let me take some in order to put these cute globes together. I also had to have another photo prop.So I went with the palm trees and parrots stick ups and just added blue translucent gift wrap paper behind it to make it seem you were looking out to the ocean.

DSCF3931Each table had a fish bowl filled with blue jello and Swedish fishes inside them (Compliments to Pinterest for the idea). I covered the table with a blue table cover and used different colored oriental mats for the guest. I had extra shells so I decided to place them on the tables as well.

DSCF3917I didn’t hire anyone to do this buffet table. I actually managed.:)

We bought most of the food choices and I made clam cookies and the chocolate shells. My sister in law made marsh mellows dipped in blue icing.

DSCF3915My incredible sister created these awesome cakes as one of the table center pieces. DSCF3995DSCF3972

Did I mention it was SCRUMPTIOUS!?

DSCF3924 DSCF3925I created a sensory table for the toddlers. They were able to grab a bucket and fish out of the sand what they wanted. I also included finger painting and sword fighting for those little pirates! URG!

of course grass skirts were involved.:)

DSCF3957The kids loved throwing the beach balls to each other. If the weather permitted we even purchased a sprinkler beach ball so the kids were able to get wet.It was too cute to watch!

DSCF3928As a gift from mommy and daddy we did get her real fishes and made it the buffet tables center piece. She absolutely love them and was so surprised. She still has them. 🙂

DSCF3941My little sunshine was all beached out by the end of the day.
